The RE200 monitor provides a reliable and accurate system for neonatal monitoring. It is extremely sensitive and is ideally suited to babies with low birth weight and shallow breathing.

Each time the baby takes a breath the monitor responds with a LED light indication and an audible ‘click’. After a breathing lapse of up to 20 seconds a loud, pulsating alarm and a red LED light is triggered. If breathing recommences, a memory LED light indicates an apnoeic event. The ‘click’ function can be turned off and the alarm delay period can be altered to 10 or 15 seconds. An alarm will also be triggered when large breathing movement signals are detected, as these typically occur prior to convulsions.

Breathing is sensed through a flat, pressure sensitive sensor pad which is placed under the mattress of the incubator or cot. Sensors are easy to clean and have a typical life span of several years.

The RE200 is suitable for home monitoring under medical supervision.
